Entry Requirements

1. You must have the complete O’level result of 5 credit passes which ideally must include mathematics and English language plus any other 3 relevant subjects as it relates to your course of study. Check HERE for list of JAMB approved courses and their correct subject combination.
2. In addition to the above, DE candidates must have obtained a minimum of upper credit in their ND result to be eligible to apply.
3. Candidates must have scored up to the minimum cut off mark of at least 180 and above and must make Bayero University Kano their first choice of institution in JAMB. Candidates who didn’t select BUK or make BUK their first choice can apply for a JAMB change of institution and course form and make BUK their preferred choice of institution.

Step 1:  Login- At the homepage of the Bayero University website www.buk.edu.ng click on 2026 UTME ONLINE SCREENING EXERCISE

Step 2: Profile Update – UTME candidates can login using UTME Registration Number as username and UTME aggregate score as password. You should then fill-in the provided form noting that the photograph uploaded from JAMB will be the only valid ID for all admitted candidates throughout their stay in Bayero University, Kano.

Step 3: Generation of BUK PPI – Generate and download your Personalised Payment Invoice (PPI). The invoice will come with Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) for the sum of N2,000.00 being cost of screening. Applicants have an option of paying online using Credit/Debit Card, Internet Banking, or printing the invoice and using it to pay at any Commercial Bank nationwide. Note that after successful online payment, acknowledgement slip can instantly be generated and printed. In case of bank payment, the payment has to be processed by the candidate using the provided “check your payment” button on the site, before acknowledgement card can be printed.

ANY CANDIDATE THAT FAILS TO REGISTER FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE WITHIN THE STIPULATED DATE WILL NOT BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED.

BUK POST UTME/DE FORM CLOSING DATE

The management has announced that the form will be available from 14^th August, 2026 to Sunday, 7th September, 2026.

Date, Venue and Time of the BUK Aptitude Test will be communicated to you using the phone number and/or e-mail address (on the JAMB registration) you supplied in the form you filled-in.

Note that blind and foreign candidates are exempted from the aptitude test. However, they need to do the online registration.

Note The Following;

1. Also note that visually impaired, people with hearing difficulties and foreign candidates are exempted from the aptitude test. However, they need to register for the BUK post UTME screening application form online.

ANY CANDIDATE WHO FAILS TO REGISTER FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE WITHIN THE STIPULATED DATE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

NOTE: JAMB O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has indicated that it would not clear any shortlisted candidate who does not have ‘O Level results. All candidate therefore, are advised to visit any JAMB Office or accredited CBT centre nearest to them to upload their O level results (WAEC, NECO, etc.).

Even candidates who do not satisfy the University screening conditions below are advised to provide the details for consideration by other institutions. (Note that supplying false information will result in disqualification). You are allowed to supply a maximum of two different O’ Level examination results.

PRINTING OF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT/REGISTRATION SLIP

Please note that this slip is a very important document that must be carried along when going for your screening test at BUK. Any candidate that fails to carry this document automatically won’t be allowed into the exam hall.
