UNIPORT Post-HND to BTech Degree Admission Form 2025/2026 Academic Session

The School of Science Laboratory Technology (SSLT) at the University of Port Harcourt offers a two-year Post-Higher National Diploma (Post-HND) program leading to a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree. This program is designed for individuals who have obtained an HND, a Pass Degree, or a Third Class Degree in disciplines such as Science, Engineering, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Agriculture, or Science Laboratory Technology. Its primary objective is to provide advanced university-level training, enabling these graduates to enhance their academic qualifications and professional skills.

Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified candidates for Admission into the POST-HND to B.TECH Programme of the School of Science Laboratory Technology (SSLT), University of Port Harcourt for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Upon successful completion, graduates are awarded a B.Tech degree along with professional certification from the Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT).

The curriculum is structured over two academic calendar years, with each year comprising three terms of evening and weekend classes, accommodating working professionals and others with daytime commitments.

OBJECTIVE

The aim of the programme is to provide quality University training platform for HND or Pass Degree or Third Class Degree Graduates in Science, Engineering, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Agriculture and Science Laboratory (B.Tech) degree with NISLT Professional Certification.

The programme leads to the award of Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) Degree in any of the following Science Laboratory options.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applications must posses the following requirements in order to qualify for Admission into the Programme.

• A minimum of pass in Final Diploma (FD) NISL or Lower Credit in Higher National Diploma (HND) or a pass Degree or Third Class Degree in Science, Engineering, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Agriculture and Science Laboratory (SLT) and related fields from a recognized Monotechnic or Polytechnic or University.

• Credit level passes at the O/Level in the GCE, SSCE, WASC, NECO, NABTEC, City and Guilds and its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics in not more than two sittings.

DURATION OF PROGRAMME

The minimum duration of programme is two (2) Academic calendar years. One calendar consists of three (3) terms of evening and weekend classes.

Application Forms are to be obtained from the Post-HND Office, SSLT Administrative Building before Uniport Bottling Plant, University Park, University of Port Harcourt on the payment of a non-refundable fee of Ten Thousand naira only (N10,000.00) to SSLT Post-HND B.Tech Degree Programme, School of Science Laboratory Technology, University of Port Harcourt through Remita.

Step 1 – Go to https://utmedetails.uniport.edu.ng

Step 2 – Click on miscellaneous & other payments

Step 3 – Click on select service/purpose

Step 4 – Click on the relevant item/centre/institute on the drop-down list

Step 5 – Click on amount to pay and type in the amount as applicable

Step 6 – Fill the other information on the page (such as name, email, phone no., etc)

Step 7 – Click on  create payment. This will take you to the payment slip page

Step 8 – Print the page or copy out the RRR number on the page and proceed to any Bank branch and make payment

Step 9 – To make online payment, click on pay via Remita and follow the instructions on the page

SUBMISSION OF COMPLETED FORMS

Completed Application Forms, together with two recent (2) passport-sized photograph of the Applicant and the original copy of receipt of payment for the Application Form should be returned to:

Coordinator, Post-HND Office, SSLT Administrative Building before Uniport Bottling Plant University Park, University of Port Harcourt, Choba.
