Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, invites applications from qualified candidates for the following positions:
A. Director, ICT
- Senior Lecturer and above with a Ph.D. from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in information systems, communication technologies, research, and development.
- Strong managerial and technical skills for a corporate environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
The Director, ICT will be responsible for:
- Providing leadership in ICT by developing, implementing, and maintaining Communication Technologies and Information Systems.
- Strategic planning for Information Technology in alignment with the University’s vision, mission, and corporate goals.
- Effective oversight and management of all ICT resources and operations.
- Development, implementation, and enforcement of information systems and communication services policies and standards.
- Monitoring and evaluating all Directorate operations.
- Other duties assigned by the Vice-Chancellor (Finance, Planning and Development).
B. Assistant Director Technical
- Delivering effective and efficient ICT support for University staff and students.
- Researching and providing technical solutions in a heterogeneous ICT landscape.
- Initiating investigations into ICT security incidents and analyzing logs and processes.
- Hardware and software deployment for University-owned equipment.
- Network support and end-user support for University staff and students.
- Reviewing, updating Group Policy & Active Directory objects.
- Maintaining and supporting audio-visual equipment in meeting rooms.
- Other infrastructure roles as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft operating systems, Apple OS, and iOS.
- Strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with IT security tools.
- Knowledge of networking concepts (IP, DHCP, DNS).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Problem-solving aptitude.
- Experience with security patch management (desirable).
- SharePoint or MS Flow skills (desirable).
C. Software Developer/Website Administrator
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Engineering (Software), or a Diploma of Information Technology.
The Software Developer/Website Administrator will be responsible for University web development and systems administration.
D. Network Engineer
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Strong understanding of hardware infrastructure, DNS, routers, firewall systems, and cloud computing applications.
The Network Engineer will:
- Design and enhance the University’s network infrastructure.
- Plan solutions for network-related issues.
- Maintain documentation of network queries and solutions.
- Configure network equipment and security systems.
- Manage network security and user issues.
- Aid in the development of a reliable and secure ICT Infrastructure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
E. Data Analyst
- Relevant education in data analysis.
- Proficiency in data gathering, cleaning, modeling, interpretation, and presentation.
- Knowledge of programming languages.
The Data Analyst will:
- Gather, clean, model, interpret, and present data.
- Use tools like Microsoft Excel, SQL, Tableau, and more.
F. IT Support
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant fields.
IT Support will be responsible for:
- Installing and configuring computer hardware and software.
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
- Providing timely technical support.
SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Salary and conditions of service are in accordance with Nigeria Universities’ standards and are determined by the Edo State Government through the Governing Council.
