The West African Examination Council WAEC is the body responsible for the administration of JSSCE ( Junior Secondary School Certificate Examination and WASSCE (West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination) in all Western African countries. Checking your WAEC result after writing the national examination is an easy process and many candidates are sometimes worried about how to go about it. This is the reason why I have written this article. To help you explain the process of waec result checking especially now that you can do them online easily.

The WAEC result checker is a platform on waec website for checking the following results;

  • May/June Junior WAEC results
  • May/June Senior WAEC result
  • November/December GCE (General Certificate Examination) WAEC result.

Only candidates with valid WAEC registration number also known as Examination number that fully and successfully participated in any of the above batches are eligible to make use of the WAEC result checker tool on the WAEC website.

Here i have outlined the steps required for checking the 2020 WAEC result for Junior WAEC, Senior WAEC as well as the WAEC GCE results.

How to Check WAEC Result Online 2020/2021 Admission Year

STEP 1: Buy a WAEC result checker scratch card. You should find the nearest bank in your area and buy your waec scratch card.You will need this card to continue with the following steps.

STEP 2: After the purchase, then locate a very good cyber café, you can login to your personal system or mobile phone device.

STEP 3: With your WAEC scratch card at your disposal and PIN safely kept, visit WAEC website stated on the scratched card.

STEP 4: Correctly, enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number. Fr your information, the first 7-Digits is your centre number followed by the 3-digits which is your candidate number eg. 33265467114)

STEP 5: Enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year eg. 2020 or 2021

STEP 6: You are to select the Type of Examination

STEP 7: Enter the e-PIN (Personal Identification Number) Voucher Number

STEP 8: Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your e-PIN blank space as seen on the above image.

STEP 9: Crosscheck again to confirm all information imputed are correct before submission. If all details are correct, go to the next step and submit.

STEP 10: Click Submit and wait for the results window to pop up from a different page.

Please note that, results sometimes may not be available at the moment, you may need to return at a later time to check. You can check your WAEC result with the same card five times with the same card so it is advisable to check once a week so you don’t have to buy another WAEC Card Pin & Serial No since it can ONLY be used a maximum of 5 times per for one Examination number
