Cut Off Mark for All Unity Schools In Nigeria 2020/2021 Session

Federal Government Colleges and Federal Government Girls Colleges in Nigeria are classified under one umbrella known as UNITY SCHOOLS. These schools are headed by Principals and managed by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Federal ministry of Education. The office of of the Federal ministry of education is in charge of fixing the cut off mark for all unity schools (FGCs and FGGCs).

Over the years, both FGCs and FGGCs have maintained a high standard which is why the number of admission into these schools is constantly on the increase. Students can only be admitted into Unity schools nationwide through the National Common Entrance (NCE) examination and only students who pass by scoring above the cut off mark will be admitted and admission is based on merit.

In this post I will be giving you the exact cut off mark for all UNITY schools in Nigeria as approved by the ministry of education. Parents and guardians can be rest assured that should their wards score up to the minimum cut off mark, they will be admitted. However, the higher their score in the National Common Entrance, the higher their chances of being listed on the merit list of their selected institution.

Parents and guardians who have been searching for the cut off mark for the schools of their respective wards are on the right page as I will not only be listing the cut off marks for the various Federal Government Colleges for boys and girls, but i have also included the documents required by all UNITY schools for the admission process should the student be admitted.

Since it is a UNITY school, kindly note that cut off mark sometimes may vary. Often times, the cut off mark for FGCs boys is usually slightly higher than that of FGGCs (Federal Government Girls Colleges).

Again, the cut off marks for FGGCs and FGC boys in the north is usually lower than their Southern and Eastern counterparts. Even-though this has been criticized by parents, guardians and stakeholders, the federal government has defended the move, noting that it is a way of encouraging the Northern children in embracing education.

Candidates should note that the benefits of scoring up to the minimum cut off mark is that it afford the candidates the opportunity to gain admission into their respective schools.

Documents required for Registration at FGCs and FGGCs Upon Admission

  1. Candidate’s birth certificate
  2. Primary school leaving certificate
  3. State of Origin certificate
  4. Red background passport photographs
  5. Receipt of payment of school fees and other payments.
So please note that only successful candidates who passed the cut off mark stands the chance of being admitted. However, not all candidates who pass the admission cut off mark will be admitted because all UNITY Schools have a quota they can admit every academic session.

Unity Schools Cut off Mark For 2020/2021 Academic Session

The approved cut off mark for all federal unity schools in Nigeria for 2020/2021 academic session is 142 points, therefore, candidates who score up to 142 and above are automatically eligible for admission into any of the federal government colleges. Please note that, the higher your cut off mark, the higher your chances of gaining admission.
