IMSU cut off mark for 2025/2026 session has been announced. This academic session, the Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) after a meeting with stakeholders from all tertiary institutions in Nigeria which includes Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and other colleges of health agreed that institutions fix their cut off mark for 2025/2026 academic session and the management of IMSU has fixed their cut off mark for 2025/2026 at 150 and above.
Aside passing your UTME cut off mark of 150 for IMSU as fixed by the university Board (JAMB) for 2025/2026 admission year, another hurdle is being able to pass the cut off mark set by various departments in the respective universities.

Here we are focusing our radar on IMSU courses and their cut off marks for 2025/2026 session, we have arranged the courses offered in IMSU based on the departments they fall under. though this does not come without meeting their requirements for admission.
Please be reminded that IMSU’s cut off mark is 150 for this session. However, this does not apply to the various individual courses and their respective cut off marks.
At the end of this post, you should be able to get the cut off marks for the following departments/faculties; IMSU cut off mark for Engineering, Mass Communication, Accounting and others as seen below
IMSU Admission Requirements For All Courses
- You’ll required to have a minimum Credit passes in Five (5) subjects including: English Language, you must have this result from any of the following examinations:
- SSCE
- GCE O’Level,
- Or any other equivalent examinations.
- You must have at least, a 150 UTME Score, which is required for admission into IMSU for all courses. This is the official JAMB Cut Off Mark for IMSU.
- All applying candidates should also be aware, that they MUST have make the Imo State University (imsu) their 1st and/or Second choice to qualify to write the Post-UTME Screening Test.
IMSU Courses And Their Cut-off Marks for 2025/2026 Session
The courses and their cut off marks below are the scores you should score in order to stand a better chance of being admitted into IMSU to study the course applied for. However, candidates that score at least 150 and above in the current UTME are eligible to participate in the forthcoming post UTME/DE screening exercise. If you are able to score high in your screening test, this would give you an added boost to your overall aggregate score.

Your course would be dependent on your UTME score. I can’t find mathematics on your list of subject combination. You need at least a C in maths, if you don’t have mathematics then you will not be offered admission.

It is not even close. my advice is that you change your course immediately if you want to stand a chance of being admitted in the 2025/2026 academic session. Switch to a less competitive course.

Yes Vera it is very possible. A cousin of mine got 242 in JAMB and 62 in post UTME yet was denied admission. It is quite pathetic but the schools will always defend their decision and blame it on the quota system.

Economics Education is closely related to Economics under social or management science, the only difference is the Eco Education is under Faculty of Education and you degree would state B.Edu in Economics while the other would state B.Sc Economics. If you did not see Medicine and Surgery on the list of courses then i believe their college of medicine is not accepting students for this academic session. it is left to you to select the available courses or hold on for the next UTME

Most Universities, be it public nor private, are not accepting the new cut off mark. IMSU cut off mark is not 120. But if he scores above IMSU cut off mark then your brother is equally eligible to purchase their post UTME form and sit for the test.
