This is to inform all fresh and returning students of Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano (YUMSUK) that the management has announced the resumption date for fresh and returning students via the recently published academic calendar for the academic session as a result of the 8 months suspended strike action.
According to the management, returning students are to resume alongside fresh students. This is the norm practiced in most schools upon continuation of academic activities unlike cases where it is a start of a fresh academic session where returning resume 1 or 2 weeks after resumption of fresh students.
FUL academic activities for the 2025/2026 academic session has been designed to run for a period of 4 months approximately. All academic and non-academic activities have been scheduled to take place within the 4 months period.
YUMSUK RESUMPTION DATE FOR FRESH AND RETURNING STUDENTS
Upon calling off the strike embarked on by the ASUU (Academic Staff Union of Universities), the management of YUMSUK has announced the date for resumption for fresh and returning students for continuation of the academic activities.
YUMSUK resumption date is 24th October, 2025 and lecture commences immediately.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Payment of school fees and all compulsory registrations for fresh and returning students would kick off immediately upon resumption.
If there are adjustments in to YUMSUK resumption date for 2025/2026 academic session, the management will duly inform us and I shall make changes where necessary.
