This is to inform all fresh and returning students of University of Port Harcourt that the management of the institution has announced the resumption date for fresh and returning students for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The Management of the University of Port Harcourt hereby informs the general public, especially students, parents, and guardians, that the resumption of academic activities for both fresh and returning students for the 2025/2026 Academic Session has been postponed by two weeks.
The postponement was concluded at a meeting of the Committee of Provost and Deans held on Friday, October 31, 2025, to review the earlier resumption date scheduled for Monday, November 3, 2025.
After extensive debates on the ongoing admission process and in order to ensure a smooth and seamless completion of the exercise, the Committee determined to shift the resumption date by two weeks.
Therefore, the new date for the commencement of academic activities is Monday, November 17, 2025.
The university management regrets any inconvenience this adjustment may cause and assures all stakeholders that the decision was taken in the best interest of the University community to allow for proper conclusion of admissions and adequate preparation for the new session.
The management appreciates the understanding and cooperation of all students, parents, and staff as it continues to maintain its commitment to academic excellence and effective service conveyance.
Payment of school fees and all compulsory registrations for fresh and returning students would kick off immediately upon resumption.
