Strengthening International Academic Ties

Professor Ishaya also emphasized that these international students underwent the same admission process as their Nigerian counterparts, including sitting for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations.
Rochas Foundation’s Role in Facilitating Admissions
Acknowledging the efforts of the Rochas Foundation College of Africa, the Vice-Chancellor extended gratitude to Senator Rochas Okorocha, who played a key role in encouraging students from the foundation to choose UNIJOS for higher education. He noted that the foundation has helped strengthen the university’s international reputation and commitment to delivering quality education.
Mr. Ashwe Felix, Officer in Charge of Operations at the Rochas Foundation, formally handed over the students to the university, assuring that they have been well-prepared for academic success. He emphasized that their education at UNIJOS would not only equip them with knowledge but also expose them to Nigeria’s rich cultural and educational landscape.
Commitment to a Supportive Learning Environment
The Vice-Chancellor assured the students that the university is dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, and conducive learning environment.
Additionally, Professor Chris Piwuna, the Dean of Student Affairs (represented by Mr. Ibrahim Tella), urged the students to uphold the university’s rules and regulations. He encouraged them to integrate into the academic community and communicate any concerns with university authorities for a smooth educational journey.
With more foreign students expected in the coming years, UNIJOS continues to enhance its reputation as a hub for academic excellence and cultural exchange in Africa.
