After a lengthy meeting the Senate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, finally came to the conclusion as regards OAU resumption date for fresh and returning students. Please note that this resumption is for 2022/2023 UTME students.
In addition to the above, the Senate has approved the resumption date for the new calendar of 2022/2023 academic session. The resumption date for all students irrespective of the level have been listed below.
The closure of all higher institutions in Nigeria was necessitated by the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. OAU resumption date for fresh and returning students has been announced by the management of the institution.
OAU Resumption Date for Second Semester (Rain Semester) Per Faculty
- Faculty of Pharmacy – 19th of June, 2021.
- College of Health Sciences – 19th of June, 2021.
- Faculty of Agriculture – 19th of June, 2021.
- Clinical Students and all 400 Level students – 19th of June, 2021.
Other students in other faculties and in 300 level below who were asked to receive their classes virtually are to follow suit and resume alongside other students for the start of the 2nd semester 2022/2023 academic session.
After a month’s closure of the school, the management has announced that all students resume on Friday, 5th November 2021 and continue with their examinations on Saturday, 6th of November, 2021
It also added that any student, who is still illegally occupying any room within the University halls of residence, would be viewed to have violated his/her matriculation oath, and such a student will be sanctioned appropriately.
This is to give enough time for proper repair and comprehensive renovation of all the halls of residence in order to make it more comfortable for the students.
Parents and Guardians are hereby enjoined to take note of the new date and prepare their children/wards for resumption accordingly.
