School of Nursing, University of Calabar Teaching Hospital is a Federal school of Nursing offering all basic and post basic nursing programmes. Admission into SON UCTH is via JAMB. The admission form is obtainable from the SON UCTH portal.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Admission into the school is by entrance examination: Written and Interview. Male and female are eligible to take the entrance examination, which is organized by the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital.
- Candidates must have had full Secondary School Education and possess Senior Secondary Certificate or its equivalent with five (5) ‘credits’ at no more than two sittings. These credits must be in the following subject: Mathematics, English language, Biology or Health Science and any other two subjects.
- The possession of a Diploma in Community Health from an accredited college/school of Health Technology or Certificate in Community Health Extension may be considered for those who do not possess the requisite 5 credits.

SON UCTH admission forms for the Entrance Examination into the school are sold every year from April to June. The entrance takes place in July, while the interview is usually scheduled for August. Hi. Good morning. Your website says that UNN’s school of nursing offers a 5 year course. At the end of which we get a B.sc in Nursing. I’d like to know if we still get the RN certificate, when their next sale of forms begins and if I have to be from Enugu state to go there. Also..got D7 in Physics in WAEC..is it acceptable, should I combine it with GCE or should I just use my NECO where I got C parallel?

Your D7 in Physics could be replaced with a minimum of Credit in Chemistry. And yes you will get the RN Certificate upon completion of your Nursing degree
But the UNN website days you need both. It says you need chemistry and physics. So do I combine or use NECO?
Thats surprising, Most schools of Nursing allows either Physics or Chemistry, Well, you can go ahead with their own requirements. As for your O’Level results, Yes you can use just NECO if its complete but if not, you could combine both. Good luck

Wow.. From Economics to Nursing? That’s a different ball game. Firstly you are not science inclined, you dont meet the requirement for Nursing because your O’Level is not science related, these are some of the requirements you need to put in mind before studying Nursing

INTRODUCTION
Basic Midwifery Training program is an aspect of Nursing and midwifery eduction that prepares students to become professional registered midwives. The qualifications are accredited and graded by the Nursing and Midwifery council of Nigeria.

Examination questions will cover English language, physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, general knowledge, current affairs and introduction to midwifery

Well it depends for a 3 year Basic General Nursing Programme, 3 year Basic Midwifery Training Programme or the 5-year Generic BNSc Nursing Programme, the cool thing about these routes is that they all have the same basic entry requirements – minimum of 5 credits in O’level results in Mathematics, English language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in not more than two (2) sittings.
The only difference in the application route is the mode of application – either going through JAMB or picking up an application form from the specific nursing institution.
