This is to inform all fresh and returning students of Bayelsa Medical University (BMU) that the management of the institution is has announced the resumption date for fresh and returning students after a plenary meeting held by the senate of the university. According to the management, all students are to resume immediately.
The academic activities for the 2025/2026 academic session has been designed to run for a period of 4 months approximately. All academic and non-academic activities have been scheduled to take place within the three (3) to four (4) months period.

Notice of Resumption for First Semester 2025/2026 Academic Session
This is to inform the university community that academic activities for the first semester of the 2025/2026 session will resume as follows:
- Fresh and returning students: Monday, 6th January 2025
New students are advised that the schedule for clearance will be communicated later, organized according to faculties and departments. Freshers are expected to report on their designated clearance dates to ensure an efficient and orderly process.
The Vice-Chancellor looks forward to welcoming all students back to campus and wishes everyone a successful semester.

Lectures will begin promptly on this date, so it is crucial that you are settled and prepared by the time classes start.
Payment of school fees/acceptance fee plus all compulsory registrations for fresh and returning students would kick off immediately upon resumption.
If there are adjustments in to BMU resumption date for the continuation of the 2025/2026 academic session, the management will duly inform us and I shall make changes where necessary.
