Every sports bettor who deals with football betting has their own strategies for achieving betting wins. Here, we want to present various methods by which you can increase your betting balance through football wagers. Please note that not all of the football betting strategies presented promise success. However, each offers ideas and approaches for your own football betting strategies! All Wettbasis sports betting strategies are categorized (betting strategies for football betting, live betting strategies, etc.). This may sound a bit strange, but often you can recognize within a few minutes which team is more motivated on match day and is therefore more engaged. After just a few minutes, one team may have had several chances in the game. In other matches, everything is balanced and it’s hard to predict the final result, while in some games it’s clear that the match is playing out in the midfield with very few goal-scoring opportunities.

Now, you can respond to each type of match. If you see that one team is better (and the crucial factor: the odds are right), you can bet on their victory. If a match has no identifiable favorite, it’s best to avoid betting.
In a “midfield” match, you might consider betting on a score of 0:0 at halftime or as a final result (backing) and hedge your bet by selling it (laying) for a profit if you notice the game is becoming more lively or you’ve invested significantly.
It’s also important to ascertain before the match whether one team must win, whether a draw is sufficient for both, or whether one team needs to win by two goals.
As a rule of thumb, I’ve noted that in a match where one team leads by 1 goal, it often happens towards the end that a second goal is scored (either an equalizer or extending the lead). This rule has its exceptions, for example, if the leading team is down to ten players and stops attempting counter-attacks, but usually, after the 80th minute, there is an odds of over 2 on another goal. If you even have a sense of which team will score that goal, there are often odds of 3.5 or higher.
In matches that stand tied after 80 minutes, I would rather not bet on another goal unless you see one team going all out (or needing to win).
With a 2-goal lead for one team, you should watch and assess whether the leading team continues to play offensively and seeks to score or if they are already playing defensively, passing the ball back.
Another good strategy, in my opinion, is betting on a victory for a favorite that is trailing – again, provided that you see the favorite is aiming to win – either on a straight win or, if possible, on an Asian Handicap of 0, where you wouldn’t lose even with a draw. If you’re willing to take a risk, you might also bet on an Asian Handicap of 1 for the favorite, which only pays out if the home team wins by more than one goal, but often has odds of over 3.
However, the most important thing is to watch the match, compare the bets and odds, and then decide whether to bet or not.
To clarify the significance of the odds:
Let’s say a team has so far taken 5-0 corners. The odds for the next corner for that team is 1.1 (which you might consider, but it’s not worth betting since the potential profit is very small). However, if the odds were instead 1.5, that would be worth considering for me, as long as the score remains unchanged.
There are already 6 yellow cards, and the referee has already gone to the coaches twice to urge them to calm the players (this happened in a game in the Primera Division). The odds for a red card in this game is 1.3 (in my opinion, too low). Let’s assume the odds—like it actually was—were at 2.9. To me, that is a clear bet.
Mathematical Strategies
These strategies may seem a bit complicated, but they provide the bettor with a process based on mathematics, which increases the chances of winning.
1-3-2-6 System
This system is also known as the “Paroli System” and is one of the easiest betting strategies to understand. Some gambling enthusiasts may be familiar with this system, especially from roulette, where it is often applied.
The first thing you need to do is divide your desired stake into betting units, which should be between 2% and 5% of the total stake. So, if you plan to play with €100, your betting unit would be €2-5. If you win the first bet, your next stake will be three betting units, which is €6-15. With another win, your third stake will be two betting units, i.e., €4-10. If you win all four bets, you simply start from the beginning again.
Possible Outcomes:
-
First bet lost – Total loss = 1 betting unit
-
First bet won, second bet lost – Total loss = 2 betting units
-
First two bets won, third bet lost – Total profit = 2 betting units
-
First three bets won, fourth bet lost – Neither profit nor loss
-
All four bets won – Total profit = 12 betting units
