Abia State University – ABSU Cut off mark for all courses offered in the institution for 2023/2024 academic session has been released by the management of the institution. This includes cut off mark for Medicine, Accounting, Law and Engineering courses and all other faculties as seen in the table below.
JAMB released a new set of cut off mark which was later readjusted in June that same year. The cut off mark seen below is the recently approved ABSU cut off mark for 2023/2024 academic session.

Abia State University, Uturu is a state owned universities established in 1981 under the administration of former governor of Imo state, Mr Sam Mbakwe. Since its inception, the university has produced powerful and notable dignitaries and leaders in Nigeria.
ABSU offers curriculum covers a wide range of courses ranging from undergraduate to postgraduate programmes. The university has two campuses, with its main campus sited at Uturu, and the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in Umuahia Campus.
Yearly thousands of Candidates apply for admission into ABSU, recently the management had to place a quota on the number of applicants because it exceeds the university capacity.
Just like other states and federal universities, admission into ABSU is based on the student’s ability to meet up the JAMB minimum cut off mark for the University and course.
To gain admission into ABSU, candidates must meet the following admission requirements;
a) First and foremost, he or she would be required to meet up to the required JAMB minimum ABSU cut off mark and departmental cut off mark (After calculating the average cut off point for the course)
b) Candidates seeking admission must have a minimum of 5 O’Level credit pass with Mathematics and English Language as a compulsory subject.

ABSU Cut Off Mark For 2023/2024 Academic Session
The management of Abia State University, Uturu has approved the ABSU cut off mark for 2023/2024 academic session as 180 for all courses with an exception of Law, Engineering, Medicine which attracts higher cut off marks.
But be warned that not all students that pass the JAMB cut off mark for Abia state university are awarded an automatic admission. You must meet other admission requirements and pass the post UTME cut off mark for your course to stand a higher chance of gaining admission.
In cases where competition for admission for the course is stiff, then candidates with higher scores have better opportunities than those with lesser scores.

How To Calculate ABSU Cut Off Mark For Your Course
On how to calculate Abia State University cut off marks for 2023/2024, it is simple. Simply multiply by your post jamb score by your JAMB score and divide by two (2) in order to get your aggregate score. Of course you can gain admission. Yes absu is by connection like all federal and state universities in Nigeria but he is totally wrong for saying no admission by merit. This is a dicey situation, if you hadnt registered before changing i would have been confident. Well just wait and see, the worst case scenario would be that your name would be out in the first school you registered for before switching but that would be if you also meet the requirement

Sorry even if you perform well in your post UTME, Pharmacy is one course that requires high cut off mark. So your chances of gaining admission in ABSU to study Pharmacy is very very slim

186 JAMB score is too low to study Economics at ABSU. As for your subject combination, all you need is Mathematics, English Economics and any other 2 subjects.

What course do you want to study? Nursing or Medicine? Just know that 195 is not good enough to give you admission to study Nursing in ABSU. I would advice you go for a change of course.
