Abia State University, Uturu is a state owned universities established in 1981 under the administration of former governor of Imo state, Mr Sam Mbakwe. Since its inception, the university has produced powerful and notable dignitaries and leaders in Nigeria.

The management of Abia State University, Uturu has approved the ABSU cut off mark for 2025/2026 academic session as 160 for all courses with an exception of Law, Engineering, Medicine which attracts higher cut off marks.
But be warned that not all students that pass the JAMB cut off mark for Abia state university are awarded an automatic admission. You must meet other admission requirements and pass the post UTME cut off mark for your course to stand a higher chance of gaining admission.

However,someone told me that in Absu, there is nothing like ‘merit list’, that Absu admission is by ‘connection’. Is this information correct.
Of course you can gain admission. Yes absu is by connection like all federal and state universities in Nigeria but he is totally wrong for saying no admission by merit.
