The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has officially extended the application deadline for the 2025/2026 academic session. The new deadline is Thursday, 27 February 2026, following an earlier closing date of 31 January 2026.
According to NELFUND, the extension is intended to give prospective applicants who are yet to apply—or who have started but not completed their applications—ample time to submit all required information before the new deadline.

In light of this development, the State Government strongly encourages all eligible students of various State origins currently enrolled in higher institutions across Nigeria to take full advantage of this opportunity and apply free of charge via the official NELFUND portal at https://nelf.gov.ng by clicking on “Apply Now.”
