University of Lagos Consultancy Services Limited (UNILAG Consult Ltd) was established by the UNILAG Governing Council in July 1983 and was registered under the Business Names Act of 1961 in 1984. However, it was incorporated as a Limited Liability Company under the Companies and Allied Matters Act of 1990 in 2013.

As the consulting arm of the University of Lagos, it stands as Nigeria’s premier provider of high-quality research-driven human capital, leadership and developmental solutions. It is managed independently with its own separate Board and Management to generate revenue for the University through the following services:

• Educational Sector Services
• Human Resource Management
• Training & Skills Development
• Environmental Services
• Laboratory Services
• Information and Communication Services
• Engineering Consultancy Services
• Other programs may be established and approved by the Board.

POSITION: Vacancy for the Post of Managing Director

LOCATION: Lagos

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

For the position, the Board seeks a transformative visionary leader with high levels of integrity, competence in strategic job planning and organization, a deep commitment to innovation and proven experience in driving organizational success within the consulting, training and human capital development sectors.

The Managing Director will oversee all strategic operational and financial aspects of UNILAG Consult, ensuring alignment with the mission and values of the University of Lagos while fostering impactful partnerships and sustaining UNILAG Consult’s legacy of excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Applicants must have a PhD from a recognized university with appropriate management experience.
2. Must not be above 60 years of age and must not be below the rank of Professor in a University at the time of appointment.
3. Show concrete evidence of success in similar assignments.
4. Be able to establish enduring contacts in government, non-governmental institutions and corporate organizations.
5. Have good judgment and initiative in determining sources of business for UNILAG CONSULT LTD.
6. Demonstrate ability to lead and work in academic and business environments.
7. Must be a member of a professional body and have at least five (5) years in strategic planning, business development and operational management.

REMUNERATION:

UNILAG Consult is a self-sustaining commercial outfit and the remuneration for the Managing Director is competitive and negotiable. It is also based on achieving targets and goals.
