NUC Releases List of Illegal Universities In Nigeria 2025

Recently there was a little shake up in the education sector, Tertiary institutions, universities precisely as regards the growing number of universities illegally coming up without going through the proper approval and due process to be taken requesting for license for running a university or satellite campuses.

Not many are aware of the psychological trauma students go through after all the years of trying to gain admission and at the tail end of your degree programme, your course is tagged as an unaccredited or your university is termed illegal by the NUC which automatically means your degree certificate is null and void and of no effect. A whooping 58 universities and satellite campuses are operating without license and NUC has just published the list to inform the genera public against attending or purchasing these school forms as anyone who does so does it at his or her own peril.

The list of the aforementioned fake universities operating currently in Nigeria includes some private universities from all 36 states in Nigeria and as for the state and Federal Universities, it is their satellite campuses that were termed illegal.

Parents and Guidance, all O’level students and interested applicants are to take note of this important information.

The above universities are the current list of schools not advisable to apply for in JAMB. They are running programmes not accredited by the NUC and therefore pose as risks to current students and prospective applicants.
