The management of Yobe State University (YSU) has approved an extension of the registration exercise for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The development was communicated in a general circular signed by the University Registrar, Isa Audu Dallari, and dated 2 February 2026. According to the circular, the extension is designed to give students additional time to complete outstanding documentation and finalise all registration requirements.

Updated Registration Timelines for YSU Students
The university has divided the registration process into two phases: a normal extension period and a late registration period.
Normal Registration Extension

Students are advised to complete their registration within this window to avoid penalties.
Late Registration Period

Start: Monday, 9 February 2026

End: Saturday, 14 February 2026
Any student who fails to register during the normal extension period will be required to register within this late window.
Late Registration Penalty
YSU has announced a ₦5,000 late registration fee for students who register between 9 and 14 February 2026. The penalty applies strictly within the late registration period.
Registration Portal Closure
The university management further stated that the registration portal will close permanently on Saturday, 14 February 2026. After this date, no further registrations or payments will be accepted for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Important Notice to Students
The circular applies to both fresh and returning students. All students are strongly advised to complete their registration within the approved timelines to avoid late fees and complications associated with missing the final deadline.
