The management of University of Portharcourt has announced to the general public especially newly admitted students that the Matriculation Ceremony for freshers who recently got admitted into University of Portharcourt for the 2026/2027 academic session has been rescheduled to hold on the date stated below.
Every student participating in the Matriculation exercise students is mandated to be present at the venue for procession according to their respective Faculties by 8:am at the venue.

Please note that this matriculation ceremony is compulsory for all newly admitted students that gained admission into University of Portharcourt either via UTME or Direct Entry or part time method as attendance will be taken because you will be required to sign the Matriculation Register immediately after the event is over.
University of Port harcourt Matriculation Ceremony Details
Please note that the 47th Matriculation Ceremony for 2025/2026 First Year Students has been scheduled to take place as specified below:
Date: Tuesday, 10th February, 2026
Time: 10.00 a.m.
Venue: New Convocation Arena, University Park
There will be an academic procession by Members of Senate. All Matriculants are to be seated at 8.30 a.m. and are expected to be very orderly. Photograph taking inside the Arena will not be allowed.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL MATRICULANTS
You are required:
- to print out the copy of the Matriculation Pledge online, which you will sign after taking the Oath at the Convocation Arena and return same to the College Secretary/Faculty Officer after the Ceremony.
Full-Time Students
- proceed to your College/Faculty/School with the Receipt of payment of School Charges to collect the academic outfit from your (From Thursday, 29th January, 2026) College Secretary/Faculty Officer. Note also that no monies shall be paid at the College/Faculty/School for any other service or document.
- return the academic gown after the Matriculation Ceremony. This should be done not later than Friday, 20 February, 2026.
Part-Time Students
- Contact the College Secretary, CCE, for the collection and return of academic outfit.
