This is to inform all fresh and returning students of University of Delta, Agbor (UNIDEL) that the management of the institution has adjusted the academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The UNIDEL adjusted academic calendar has been designed to run for a period of 1 year approximately. All academic and non-academic activities have been scheduled to take place within the approved time frame as adjusted by the management of the university.
UNIDEL ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR FRESH AND RETURNING STUDENTS 2025
The academic calendar for UNIDEL goes as follows:
Getting Started: Admissions and Registrations
- 05/09/2023 – 07/09/2023: The university commences with the Post UTME Screening for aspiring students.
- 28/09/2023 – 13/10/2023: A significant period for the admission of fresh students.
- 28/09/2023 – 22/10/2023: Newly admitted students are required to complete a series of tasks: payment of the acceptance fee, online and physical clearance, payment of school charges, and registration.
For the Returning Students
- 24/10/2023: Old students are expected to resume for the new academic session.
- 24/10/2023 – 31/10/2023: This week is designated for the payment of school charges and registration of all old students.
Orientation and Lectures
- 01/11/2023 – 03/11/2023: Orientation exercises are scheduled for new students, an essential phase for acclimatization to university life.
- 06/11/2023: Lectures officially begin for all students, marking the start of a 12-week academic journey.
Breaks and Continuation of Lectures
- 01/12/2023: The university goes on a Christmas break.
- 07/01/2024: Post-holiday, both new and old students resume.
- 08/01/2024: Lectures continue after the break.
Important Deadlines and Events
- 09/02/2024: Deadline for student registration and closing of the university portal.
- 23/02/2024: First semester lectures come to an end.
- 26/02/2024 – 01/03/2024: A period dedicated to revision.
- 27/02/2024: An interdenominational service and Founders Day Lecture.
- 28/02/2024: Matriculation ceremony for new students.
Examinations and Break
- 04/03/2024 – 08/03/2024: GST and Entrepreneurship examinations.
- 11/03/2024 – 18/03/2024: First semester examinations for Education students.
- 14/03/2024 – 28/03/2024: First semester examinations for all other students.
- 29/03/2024 – 05/04/2024: A well-deserved one-week break follows the examinations.
Results and Evaluation
- 08/04/2024: Departmental Academic Boards convene to consider results.
- 10/04/2024: Faculty Academic Boards meet to review and discuss results.

- 07/04/2024: Students return to their residences.
- 08/04/2024: A fresh start with the beginning of second-semester lectures, spanning 12 weeks.

- 01/07/2024 – 05/07/2024: A week dedicated to revision.
- 08/07/2024 – 12/07/2024: GST and Entrepreneurship examinations.
- 15/07/2024 – 19/07/2024: Second semester examinations for Education students.
- 22/07/2024 – 02/08/2024: Second semester examinations for all other students.
Closure of the Academic Year
- 03/08/2024 – 30/08/2024: A four-week end-of-session break.
- 19/08/2024: Departmental Academic Board reviews sessional results.
- 22/08/2024 – 23/08/2024: Faculty Academic Board meets to consider sessional results.
- 27/08/2024 – 28/08/2024: Business Committee of Senate convenes to discuss results.
- 29/08/2024 – 30/08/2024: The Senate meets to consider sessional results.
