Patience Ozokwor is a Nigerian musician, designer, gospel singer and actress. She was nominated for the best Supporting Actress both in the 2012 & 2013 award at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards which she won. Ozokwor was amongst 100 Nigerians that were honoured by the govt in celebration of the amalgamation of the northern and southern protectorates in the year 2014.

Ozokwor was born in Amaobo, Ngwo a village in Enugu State, Nigeria, and went to Abimbola Gibson Memorial School in Lagos. Ozokwor have always had the zeal & passion for acting since she was at grade school , where she would act in several stage plays. She later attended Institute of management and technology Enugu, where she secured a degree in fine and applied arts. Before she began as an actress, she was a celebrity even before acting and initially started with radio drama. She participated in a Popular soap opera by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) titled “Someone Cares”.
Acting for Ozokwor started at an early age. At a young age, her uncle gave her novels like Oliver Twist, Jane Eyre, e.t.c She began reading those novels even when she couldn’t comprehend the words.
Eventually, the books exposed her into the planet of literature and creativity. She was also registered at the Takwa Bay Children’s Club and was socializing with other children through different activities. All of those reciprocally gave her more exposure and confidence.
After college, Patience taught for four years before delving into broadcasting. Next, she was employed as an announcer for Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Enugu until its closure. At FRCN, she took part in radio theatres and other media and entertaining activities.
After FRCN pack up and workers retrenched, Patience engaged in petty trading until she met Chika Okpala. Okpala’s crew assigned her a task during a commercial without auditioning; and she also acted acted well.
After, she featured in a soap opera, Someone Cares. Subsequently, she played challenging roles in Amina and Odum film. So, in 1999, she was chosen for the movie Authority. Authority was the blessing that opened other doors.

She got married at 19 years of age and currently has three biological children and five adopted ones who all bear her name. Unfortunately, she lost her husband in year 2000. She expressed greatly her life’s biggest regret as not having the ability to marry the person of her choice, and also her children preventing her from remarrying after she lost her husband.
