Please note that the NDA Postgraduate courses listed below includes masters and PhD programmes that spans for a period of 12 to 18 months, the duration is dependent on the course of study.
Asides their various admission requirements, we assume it would be necessary to include the duration for all PG courses offered in NDA as this would assist fresh students to plan for both academic and non academic activities based on their financial capabilities.
NDA PG Admission Requirements
Candidates in search of the PG courses offered in NDA must also be aware of the admission requirements for such courses as this would states whether the candidate is qualified to study the course or not. Below we took it upon ourselves to breakdown all the levels of PG programmes ranging from PGD to Masters and down to Ph.D academic and non academic entry admission requirements.
i) Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree
Fresh candidates applying for Ph.D Degree must possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) at Bachelor Degree and a Master’s Degree in the proposed field of study from a recognized University. In addition, the candidate must have scored an average of not less than 60% or 3.50% at the Masters level.
ii) Masters (MA, M.Eng and M.Sc) Degrees
A candidate seeking admission into the Master’s Degree programme shall be a graduate of the Nigerian Defence Academy or any other recognized university. Such candidate must possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) in the relevant field of study.
iii) Professional Doctorate programmes
Academic Masters degree in relevant disciplines, with satisfactory performance.
Professional Masters degree in cognate discipline with CGPA of not less than 3.50.
Significant working experience in public service or Private Sector with solid evidence of managing resources, corporate strategy, defence, security and strategic sector governance.
iv) Master’s Degree
Candidates applying for the parttime programmes must possess a Bachelor degree with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division).
Candidates with Third Class degree or Higher National Diploma must also possess a Postgraduate Diploma in a related discipline from any recognised University to be eligible for admission. HND candidates must possess a minimum of Lower Credit to apply.
v) PGD Programmes
Candidates applying for the Postgraduate Diploma programme must possess a Bachelor degree from the Nigerian Defence Academy or any other recognised University, or Higher National Diploma.
