Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim, the Provost of Nigerian Army College of Education (NACOE) located at Sobi Cantonment, recently disclosed the forthcoming partnership between NACOE and Al-Hikmah University. This revelation took place during a courtesy visit by the management of Al-Hikmah University to NACOE on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023.
Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim highlighted that the two institutions would join forces in conducting military-related research and potentially secure Tetfund grants as a collective effort. He also emphasized the significance of lecturer exchange programs between the two establishments. Major General Ibrahim acknowledged the potential benefits of this partnership due to the abundant knowledge possessed by both institutions.
The Provost expressed a keen interest in the collaborative potential of the libraries of both NACOE and Al-Hikmah University. He acknowledged the expertise of Mr. Isiaka Atunde, who leads the library at Al-Hikmah University, and emphasized the benefits that NACOE’s library could gain from this partnership.
According to Major General Ibrahim, NACOE will provide several services to Al-Hikmah University, including fostering security consciousness among staff and students, training and retraining security personnel, promoting security awareness, identifying strategic areas for emergency convergence within the university, conducting security analyses, and training security personnel in proactive security measures.
During his remarks, Professor Noah Yusuf, the Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, highlighted the university’s Centre for Research, Industrial Linkage, and International Cooperation (CRIIC). He emphasized the center’s responsibility for research and expressed confidence that if both institutions combine their resources, they can successfully obtain Tetfund research grants.
Professor Yusuf assured the Provost of Al-Hikmah University’s unwavering commitment to the collaboration and expressed a prayer for Almighty Allah to make the partnership mutually advantageous for both institutions.
