The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to several programmes at Federal University Lokoja (FUL), following its accreditation exercise carried out in October and November 2026.
In an official letter dated April 7, 2026, the Commission confirmed that the approved programmes include Mass Communication, Computer Science, Education Mathematics, Integrated Science, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Sociology.
The NUC explained that the accreditation exercise is part of its core responsibility to ensure universities across Nigeria meet the required academic standards and maintain quality education.
Reacting to the good news, the Vice-Chancellor of FUL, Gbenga Ibileye, expressed gratitude to the Commission for the successful outcome. He also praised the staff and students of the affected departments, highlighting their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence.
According to Professor Ibileye, this achievement reflects the university’s continuous investment in quality teaching, research, and infrastructure development. He assured that the management remains committed to sustaining high standards and further improving all academic programmes to align with global best practices.
The university management described the accreditation as a major milestone, noting that it validates FUL’s academic progress and serves as motivation to keep delivering quality education.
