JAMB 2025 UTME Results: Release Awaits Final Analyses, Candidates Urged to Stay Patient

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the results for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which commenced on April 24 and is set to conclude on May 5, 2025, will be released soon. The board emphasized that the release is contingent upon the completion of rigorous post-examination analyses to ensure accuracy and integrity. Candidates are advised to exercise patience during this period as JAMB works to finalize the process.

The 2025 UTME, a critical gateway for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions, saw over 2 million candidates participate across 700+ accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers nationwide. The examination, conducted over a 12-day period, tested candidates’ knowledge in four subjects, including the compulsory Use of English, based on their chosen courses. JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, noted that the board is meticulously reviewing data, including CCTV footage and biometric verification records, to address any irregularities and maintain the examination’s credibility.

Public reactions, as seen in posts on X, reflect a mix of anticipation and frustration among candidates. Some expressed concerns over the delay, with one user criticizing JAMB’s communication style, stating, “You are an exam body. Use your punctuation marks where necessary. Jeez!!!” Others, however, acknowledged the need for thorough checks, with education consultants urging candidates to use the waiting period to prepare for post-UTME screenings. JAMB responded to the outcry, pledging a swift release once all procedures are complete, as highlighted by media outlets.

To check results, candidates will be able to send “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number registered with JAMB, or access the JAMB e-Facility portal (https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng). The SMS method incurs a N50 charge, while printing the result slip online costs N500. JAMB has warned candidates against fraudulent messages claiming to offer result upgrades, advising them to verify all communications through official channels.

The delay in result release stems from JAMB’s commitment to minimizing cancellations due to malpractice, as seen in previous years. In 2024, JAMB withheld 64,624 results for investigation and released additional results only after thorough scrutiny. This year, the board has delisted five CBT centers for failing technical standards, reinforcing its focus on quality control.

Candidates with technical issues, such as biometric verification failures, will be rescheduled for supplementary exams, with notifications sent via their JAMB profiles. JAMB has also urged candidates to reprint their examination slips to confirm their schedules.

As the nation awaits the results, JAMB’s thorough approach underscores its dedication to fairness, even as it navigates logistical challenges and public expectations. Candidates are encouraged to stay updated via JAMB’s official website (www.jamb.gov.ng) and prepare for the next phase of the admission process, including post-UTME screenings and JAMB’s Central Admission Processing System (CAPS)
