Wudil, Kano State – The Nigerian Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, has announced the suspension of its Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme for the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 academic sessions. This decision, aligned with directives from the Council of Legal Education (CLE), was confirmed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and affects candidates planning to register for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement released through JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, POLAC urged prospective candidates to select alternative courses for the upcoming academic sessions. “The suspension of the Law programme at the Nigerian Police Academy will span two academic sessions, specifically 2025/2026 and 2026/2027,” the statement read.
The academy, renowned for its rigorous training and degree programmes in law enforcement and related fields, offers a range of accredited courses, including Criminology, Sociology, and Security Studies, which remain available for UTME registration. Candidates are advised to visit the official POLAC admission portal at www.polac.edu.ng for a full list of available programmes and detailed application guidelines.
POLAC emphasized that the suspension is specific to the Law programme and does not impact other academic offerings. Applicants are encouraged to meet the academy’s general admission requirements, including a minimum UTME score of 180, at least five O’Level credits (including English and Mathematics), and compliance with age and physical standards. The application process for the 11th Regular Course, including Post-UTME screening, remains open until November 25, 2024.
