Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) offers a Pre-Degree Programme designed to prepare students for undergraduate studies. This intensive nine-month course aims to strengthen academic foundations and enhance prospects for admission into various degree programmes at OAU.
The Pre-Degree Programme spans two contact periods over nine months. It provides rigorous coaching to equip students for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and subsequent university education.
Talking about OAU Predegree courses cannot be overemphasized as this gives aspiring candidates with interest in furthering their education at the institution the ample opportunity to gain admission via DE (Direct Entry) into OAU upon completion of the programme.

The courses offered at OAU predegree programme as seen below are the approved courses offered that are currently offered as approved by the management of the university of Uyo as it is an internally run programme
Usually, upon choosing a course of study at OAU Pre-degree programme it is usually advised prospective students or applicants go through some of the requirements required to be eligible to study the course in question, see below basic requirements to study any of the courses offered at the institution
a) First and foremost, candidates with intention to study at OAU predegree programme, must score a minimum of 200 in JAMB and be at least 16 years of age in the year of admission
b) As for entry requirements into OAU, candidates must possess at least five (5) credits in all relevant subjects which must include Mathematics, English language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in not more than 2 sittings, combination of WAEC and NECO is accepted. Please note that for candidates without Biology, Agricultural science is accepted in place of Biology.
d) Candidates that meet the above requirements, candidates become automatically eligible for admission into OAU Pre-degree programme
