UNIZIK Postgraduate Admission Form For Masters

UNIZIK PG Admission Requirements

3.1 POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

The following may apply for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma programmes:

3.1.1. Graduates from approved Universities who hold the first-degree classification with FCGPA of 1.51 and above on a 5point scale.

3.1.2. Candidates from approved Polytechnics or Monotechnics who hold a Higher National Diploma with a minimum of Upper Credit.

3.2. MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMMES

The following may apply for admission into Masters Programmes:

3.2.1 Graduates from approved Universities who hold the appropriate degree in the proposed field of study with minimum FCGPA of 3.00 on a 5 point scale or a minimum of 50% for Universities that do not use FCGPA.

3.2.2 Holders of Postgraduate Diploma from recognized institutions with an FCGPA of 3.50 and above (on a 5 point scale).

3.3 DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY PROGRAMMES

Graduates from approved universities who hold Masters degree in the proposed field of study with minimum FCGPA of 3.50 on a 5 point scale or a minimum of 60% for universities that do not use the FCGPA

4.0 MINIMUM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates for any Postgraduate programme must possess a minimum of 5 credits including English Language and any four relevant subjects at one or two sittings from WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or TCII(Faculty of Education only) based on the Departmental/Faculty and General University Requirements.

Application Guide For UNIZIK PG Admission Form

UNIZIK PG Application form should be completed online by visiting https://apply.cpgs.unizik.edu.ng

Step 1: Fill out the form by providing all data in all the fields and click on “Submit My Application”

Step 2: A mail will be sent to the email you provided (so be sure to provide a valid personal email address)

Step 3: Click on the link in your email to validate your account and activate. Also, note down the application number that was also sent in the same mail. That will be your identity throughout your application journey.

Step 4: Once your account is validated and activated, enter your application number and your application email to login

Step 5: Once logged in, confirm the details provided and continue by paying your application fee online (Debit Card or Transfer) through Credo (for local students) or Paystack (for international students). Do not navigate away from the Credo or Paystack payment page until you are redirected back to the application portal.

Step 6: Once payment is completed, continue the rest of your application in a step-by-step manner. You can also check your email for payment confirmation.

Step 7: After submitting your final application, print your completed Application Form and Transcript Request form to be sent to your former institution for your academic transcripts. Any change of name should be indicated in the transcript form.

NOTE:

  • Print the completed UNIZIK Postgraduate admission form for your personal use. You will require this document in the course of the admission and registration.
  • Download and print a copy of the Transcript Request Form. The Transcript Request Form should be sent to your former Institution for your academic transcripts. Any change of name should be indicated in the transcript form.
  • Applicants should include the names, phone number and e-mail addresses of two Referees. At least one of the referees must be Academics not lower than the rank of Senior Lecturer.

PhD applicants in submitting their forms, shall upload a proposal of not more than five type-written pages that should include:

  • Topic (not more than 18 words)
  • Brief background of the Study
  • Aim and Objectives/Purpose
  • Methodology
  • Expected Outcomes
  • References.

UNIZIK PG Application Form Closing Date

Sale of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, UNIZIK Postgraduate admission form for the 2025/2026 academic session starts 28th February, 2025 and closes on 3rd September, 2025 for full time and part time programmes respectively.

PhD applicants need to upload a proposal (not more than five type-written pages) on the website. The proposal should include the following details:

Note: Transcripts should be forwarded to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies not later than September 9th, 2025, for Online programmes and December 8th, 2025, for full-time and part time programmes.

Soft copies of transcripts should be forwarded to secdr_transcript.cpgs@unizik.edu.ng from institutional e-mail addresses only.

Applicants will be invited for Screening Test and Proposal Defence (PhD only) from 10th-14th January 2025.

PhD applicants in submitting their forms shall upload a proposal of not more than five type-written pages.
