University of Calabar – UNICAL postgraduate school fees for new and returning students 2025/2026 academic session has been released by the school authority. The school fees if for all postgraduate programmes/courses offered in UNICAL.
Therefore all prospective PG students who have successfully completed their first degree and want to proceed further for a postgraduate degree are hereby advised to go through the official UNICAL PG (postgraduate) school fees for all freshers 2025/2026 academic sessions, kindly note that returning students are also not left out.
The table below itemizes UNICAL postgraduate school fees schedule table for fresh PGD, Masters and Ph.D students 2025/2026 academic year. The fees as seen in the table below includes acceptance fee, portal charges, fee, ICT fee, library fee and tuition fee payable by all fresh and returning students.
University of Calabar – UNICAL postgraduate students are therefore advised to read through to get all vital information needed in paying their fees on time.
Late payment of UNICAL pg school fees would attract extra charges and failure to pay the fees on time could lead to the student’s inability to seat for their respective examinations.
Upon reading of this information, you would be clear about the following;
i) UNICAL Postgraduate school fees for fresh PGD, M.Sc. and Ph.D. students 2025/2026 academic session
ii) University of Calabar PG school fees for Returning students 2025/2026 academic session
iii) Other compulsory postgraduate fees and charges payable by all students as mandated by the management of the university.
Before Payment of UNICAL PG tuition fee, it is pertinent all PG aspirants are furnished with the duration of each pg courses since the duration of these programmes are in direct relationship with the school fees payable by each fresh and returning PG students.
At UNICAL SPGS, all programmes begin with coursework and end with a project for Graduate Diploma, MBA, MPA and MPAS or thesis for Master’s and Ph.D degrees.
Duration of Programme:
For full-time studies the Postgraduate Diploma lasts for two (2) semesters. The Master’s degrees last for 4 semesters; and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programmes last for 6 semesters.
For part-time programmes, the Master’s degrees last for 6 semesters, the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) lasts for 10 semesters.
Note that PGD programmes run on full-time basis only.
Requirements for Admission:
Candidates are required to have a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a 5-point scale and 2.75 on a 4-point scale for Master’s programmes and 4.00 on a 5-point scale and 3.00 on a 4-point scale for the Ph.D. programmes.
A CGPA of 1.50 and above is required for PGD programmes. Candidates with Master’s degree from recognized universities may credit the relevant courses towards the Ph.D. programme, provided that the quality of the grade is acceptable to the Graduate School.
With the above duration, school fees are to be paid per semester, so the number of semesters for each PG programme determines the number of times fresh and returning students are to pay their fees.

You can apply for Nursing science. To apply, you need to wait for when the 2020 UNICAL PG form to be out first. However, note that as a corper, you will not be eligible to apply because you do not have your NYSC certificate yet which is a major requirement for applying.

Well it depends on the school, but oftentimes you will be required to go through PGD in most schools.
The table for school fees fail to explain if 106,950 fees rate is for a session or a semester.

No deadline has been announced. Ideally the date comes roughly a months before exam commences. You are not advised to wait till then to avoid paying extra charges.
please i noticed in some of your publication that cbt exams is optional while another says all candidates must go for cbt screening exams,this is conflicting pls clarify as have applied for my pgd,secondly in the list for school fees did not see pgd social work fees listed thanks
